9. TV: The Plug in Drug
As we present this article text in class today, I don't see any necessity to resummarize the text. However I want add here my interpretations. Actually Marie Winn explained in her text idol family image in a very exaggerated way. She claims that TV bring isolation, deteriorate the family rituals and harm relationship. However as we also mentioned in the class today watching TV is also a social activity. Instead of breaking the family bonds, it brings them together with sharing emotions. When you think you probably understand what I meant by saying emotions. Lets assume that you are watching the news, and learned that, a country far far away from your homeland has a natural disaster problem. Don't you just feel sad about them, you develop empathy and understand people's feelings although you don't know them. In contrast to Marie Winn's arguement TV has ofcourse positive effects, which you can not easily reject. In addition TV do not make a drug effect to people, if you observe today's life conditions in detail, you can easily see that TV has a role of bringing the outer social life to home with series, reality shows or with quiz shows. Now a days people usually do have the neither time nor strenght to go out and socialize in weekdays because of work. As a solution TV help them to relax or spend time with their family without getting more tired.

An excellent post! You've balanced out Winn's argument.
